Special destination wedding in Rome: discover Residenza Maritti for weddings of up to 40 people

Hi guys all right? After the beautiful wedding of Roberta and André that I published last week, today I return to my trip through Europe of the last few months. Those who followed me on Instagram stories have certainly seen many of my tips for those who dream of a destination wedding in Rome . But as there is no shortage of beautiful and incredible places, I decided to start a special one here on the blog and on Instagram as well, with all the details.

Rome was the last trip I took before the pandemic, and going back there moved me. I believe that I could not describe this paradise better than Goethe, so I use his, my words: “ Rome is the capital of the world! In this place all the history of the world is reconnected, and I tell you that I was born a second time, that I truly rose from the dead, the day I set foot in Rome. Your beauties gradually raised me to your height.”

After Beatriz and Henrique’s wedding in Monteriggioni , which I’ve already shown here on the blog, I traveled by train to Rome, where I was wonderfully received by my dear friend (and also wedding planner  and chef ) Maura . Being Roman, Maura brought me another Rome, she showed me amazing places full of stories and scenarios for weddings. I spent 4 days with her, and it seems like I lived a lifetime with so many beautiful places I visited.

The first of them, which I dedicate in this post, is the Residenza Maritti, which is located in the heart of Rome , overlooking the main historical monuments of the city , such as the Campidoglio hill, right in front, and the Altare della Patria rises majestically By her side. Even the Colosseum , the Basilica of Maxentius and the entire Palatine Hill with the entire ancient Roman Forum can be admired on the left side of the splendid view. Via dei Fori Imperiali, under the Campidoglio, links the Colosseum with Piazza Venezia , which is on the right of the view.

The first records of the property date back to 1826 , the year in which Antonio Corteggiani, an immigrant from Corsica, married Aleggiani Angela and bought a three-story house on Via Tor De’ Conti and an adjacent three-story property with a medieval structure. and with wooden beams. Centuries passed, in 1998, Daniela, one of the heiresses, and her husband Luigi Maritti began a complete renovation, which gave life to the current Residenza Maritti. The original furniture from Daniela’s aunts has been carefully preserved on the first floor, to whom some rooms in the apartment are dedicated: Aunt Olga, Aunt Elena, Aunt Bianca. The third floor, with frescoes on the ceiling and cement tiles on the floor, was given furniture, engravings and paintings that keep the memory of Marchioness Maria Corsi, mother of Daniela, who lived there for many years. The fourth floor, on the other hand, stands out for its extraordinary luminosity and the luminous distribution of the spaces , preserving the style of the beginning of the century in its clay floors. Tastefully decorated, it is also enriched by paintings and sculptures by emerging and non-emerging Italian artists.

I was delighted with the property, especially the terrace, which is perfect for a welcome wedding or even a wedding for up to 40 guests. From the terrace, the view is breathtaking, as I have already mentioned. Marrying Roman historical monuments as a backdrop makes everything even more special. And they have several services, such as a tasting of local cheeses and wines, as well as a welcome cocktail with typically Italian appetizers . Residenza Maritti also has 14 super charming accommodations, which can be occupied by the bride and groom’s family and friends.

To complete the trip, Residenza Maritti even offers personalized tours to all the Roman monuments, as well as the Vatican . Thinking about the trip schedule, it is worth securing some of them for the group. It is an affectionate way for the bride and groom to receive their guests in the best possible way.

What do you think of Residenza Maritti? I was delighted and already looking forward to having a wedding there. I hope it’s yours. Write to me, and I’ll help you organize everything.

Until the next destination in Rome,

Simone.
