Destination wedding in Verona: Hotel Serego Alighieri gathers beautiful scenery and food of the Gods

Welcome to the Hotel Serego Alighieri

I get so excited when I come to a place where someone so important to the history of the world has passed. And today's post has that essence. After telling about my FAM Trip by Verona, it's time to talk about every hotel I've been through. And the first is the famous Serego Alighieri, which many are already recognizing by the surname. And that's exactly it, the hotel belongs to the family of Dante Alighieri, but specifically to the last living descendant of the great writer and poet. To go through those corridors and think that he also passed me with emotion.

Look at that wonderful view!
Look at that most beautiful garden

The history of the hotel begins in the 14th century during the years of exile of Dante Alighieri in Verona. His son, Pietro, fell in love with the region and decided that there would be his new residence. It was then that he acquired, in 1353, the possession of Casal dei Ronchi in Gargagnago, in the heart of historical Valpolicella. A lot of things have changed during the 21 generations that went by. The property did not remain alone as a castle, and yes, an entire village. The winery has expanded and since 1973, the family has been collaborating with the traditional and noble Masi winery, in search of the best labels. Loved visiting the Masi, and super recommend to put in the itinerary of your destination wedding. In addition to the winery and the castle, the village still has the friendly Foresteria, which serves as a hotel for guests and events, such as weddings.

Incidentally, I recommend the region for all the bride and groom who want to provide their guests not only a historical trip but also gastronomic. In addition to the wines, as the region of Valpolicella is rich in various foods, Serego Alighieri offers a complete range of products to lovers of good table: Extra virgin olive oil, balsamic aceto, a grappa de Amarone, the vialone Nano rice for Risotos, honey of Acacia and an extraordinary cherry jelly, made with fruit from its orchard. I was terrified of getting fat lol!

And speaking of good food, another of the activities we did and that can not miss in your itinerary is the pasta class we had with the chef of the hotel. It was just sensational. We prepare our own dinner in a fun kitchen and, after cooking, we all savor our own achievements. A very nice experience.

Well in the medieval style, the accommodations bring the rustic-countryside to their apartments with living room and suite. The low ceiling with wooden beams is a charm, it looks like you plunged into one of those period movies. Weddings can be held both in the property garden, in the open air, as in the event Hall, which has a great infrastructure for parties, including sound, lighting and own projects. What I can't help recommending is pre-and post-wedding rehearsal on the Parreiras. It is stunning and yields great photos!

So, you like it? I can't wait to get my Brazilian bride and groom to marry at the Hotel Serego Alighieri.

Kisses and the next!
Simone.
