Every ten requests I receive for a destination wedding budget, four are for castles in Europe (the other six are for beach paradise ceremonies like St Barth, Barbados… – national passion, no way). And as always, the first questions are: how much does it cost? is too expensive? And that’s when I decided to write this post today, to clear those doubts and erase, once and for all, the stigma that castle marriages are only for princes and princesses.

The first topic we need to consider is why grooms dream about castles. Generally speaking, the historical issue, besides the almost omnipotent beauty, makes these centuries-old architectures strong candidates for ballrooms. And here, I really like to point out to the newlyweds who have chosen a castle, respect that history, that culture and know how to use them within their party.

Passing this question, it is time to open your wallet. And believe me, it’s just a little that you need to open it. Unlike many European hotels and salons, European castles, especially in France, Portugal and Italy, have great prices! But before you talk about values, it’s important to say that you can’t beat the hammer on a benchmark, because it all depends on the couple’s dreams, what they want to include and remove from a party. I’ve seen parties in the same place that cost 30 thousand and 100 thousand euros.
But talk on average, ok? A party at a chateau in France, such as the Château de Chantily , which I visited and got all the information on the site, has, on average, the following values: between 2 thousand and 6 thousand euros of rent, between 800 and 2 thousand euros decoration, simple dinners – 100 euros per person, gastronomic dinners – 250 euros per person, full cocktail – 60 euros per person, dj – from 500 euros, and so on. Again, it is very similar to Brazil on this point: it all depends on the date and what it wants or doesn’t include.

Unlike many places in Brazil, what makes services cheaper abroad is the fact that grooms are not surrendered to suppliers, who tightly tied to party spaces, charge what they want. There, it’s usually the hotels and castles themselves that produce everything, and if you want to bring in an outsider, that’s fine.
What about? Can we already plan yours? On the site, there are several castles that I visited and recommend for mini wedding and even break-in parties.
Good week to everyone!
