There’s a new episode of my show Aonde Casar – Destination Wedding on the Aonde Casar digital channels on YouTube , as well as the Travel Plus channel on SAMSUNG TV Plus (channel 2178) , LG Channel (channel 369), TCL Channel (Lifestyle Band), ROKU and PLUTO TV . And we’re back in my favorite city — Rio de Janeiro — with a breathtaking setting: the luxurious and contemporary Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro , located in Barra da Tijuca. In this new episode of the series, I present one of the city’s most iconic hotels, perfect for weddings seeking elegance, sophistication and the unmistakable natural beauty of the Marvelous City.
Located between the ocean and the lagoon, the Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro is a true urban retreat, surrounded by landscapes that will enchant any couple in love. With modern architecture, bold design and impeccable service, the hotel offers a complete infrastructure for those who want to hold a memorable wedding in Rio. Barra da Tijuca, the neighborhood where the hotel is located, is known for its extensive beaches, lush nature and complete structure for social and corporate events. In addition, the region is close to world-famous tourist attractions, such as Sugarloaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer, Ipanema and Copacabana beaches, in addition to having excellent leisure and gastronomic options for the bride and groom and their guests.
During my visit, I spoke with the hotel’s general manager, who highlighted the Grand Hyatt’s great differentiator as a wedding destination in Rio: “We stand out for offering not only a privileged location, but also a dedicated team that delivers a tailored service. Here, couples will find a versatile structure that adapts to different styles of celebration – from a beachside wedding to glamorous parties in our indoor venues.”
The hotel has a wide variety of event spaces, including outdoor areas with views of the sea and the lagoon, integrated gardens and air-conditioned rooms that can be customized to suit each couple’s needs. According to the manager, the spaces with views of the beach are the most popular, especially for sunset ceremonies. In addition, the Grand Hyatt offers all the support necessary for the bride and groom and their guests to have a comfortable and unforgettable experience: elegant accommodations, a full spa, swimming pool, gym, concierge services and much more.
I also spoke with the hotel’s events director, who told me about the endless possibilities for personalization: “Every couple has their own story, and our role is to transform it into a unique celebration. We offer everything from complete planning to pre- and post-wedding experiences, such as intimate dinners, photo shoots in the hotel’s outdoor areas, brunches overlooking the lagoon and even moments of relaxation at the spa.”
The events team is prepared to cater to all formats: mini weddings, elopements, large parties and more traditional ceremonies. Everything is done with great care, affection and attention to detail. And of course, I couldn’t forget to mention the gastronomy. The Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro is home to three exclusive restaurants: Shiso, which specializes in Japanese cuisine; Cantô Gastrô & Lounge, with a delicious Brazilian twist; and Tano, which offers an incredible brunch with a panoramic view of the lagoon. I spoke with the chef responsible for the hotel’s events, who explained how the gastronomic experience is personalized for each wedding: “We work with exclusive menus, adapting every detail to the taste of the bride and groom. The most popular dishes range from the freshest seafood to classic Brazilian cuisine elegantly reinterpreted. We also create themed stations and sensory experiences, such as paired dinners and special tastings.” For those looking for exclusivity, there is also the option of menus created by the chef, which can include seasonal ingredients, signature recipes and even dishes created based on the couple’s fond memories.
The decor is another highlight. In a conversation with a decorator who works for the hotel, I learned that the Grand Hyatt is a true “chameleon”: the spaces can accommodate everything from minimalist and natural decor to luxurious and exuberant arrangements. “The most important thing for us is that the wedding reflects the couple’s personality. We are always aware of trends, but we also value authenticity and telling stories through the ambiance. The hotel has such elegant architecture that less is often more.”
Recording this episode was special. Being at the Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro is having the privilege of celebrating love in a place where luxury meets nature. A perfect destination for couples who dream of an unforgettable wedding, full of style, comfort and remarkable experiences.
