Hi everyone, how are you? Tuscany is a favorite destination for Brazilian couples. I received an invitation to participate in Buy Tuscany and a FamTrip organized by them after the event, and the experience was great. I am very grateful to Toscana Promozione Turistica and Tuscany For Weddings for this opportunity. For five days, I had the privilege of exploring different regions of Tuscany, meeting local suppliers, and experiencing the unique hospitality of this fascinating destination. I will tell you all the details!
Day 1
The first day began with a welcome from the buyers and transfer to the hotel designated for our accommodation. After checking in, we were taken to the MACC – Meeting Art & Craft Center, where we received an institutional welcome and learned more about the Terre di Pisa region. We then embarked on a local tour to explore the natural beauty of the region.
Our first stop was the Migliarino San Rossore Massaciuccoli Natural Park, a protected area that stretches from Livorno to Viareggio. The park is home to preserved ecosystems and was once the property of the King of Italy and the President of the Republic. On board an eco-bus, we traveled through its pine forests and green areas until we reached Villa del Gombo, a former presidential residence built on an old hunting lodge. With a design elevated by four steel supports, the villa is a pioneering example of bio-architecture and can only be visited by special reservation.
After this immersion in the history and nature of Tuscany, we embarked on a boat trip along the Arno River, where we had a privileged view of Pisa at sunset. During the trip, we enjoyed a tasting of typical products from the region, making the experience even more special. We ended the evening with dinner at L’Ippodromo, a restaurant located inside the San Rossore Park, where we enjoyed Tuscan cuisine amidst a stunning landscape.
Day 2
The second day was dedicated to the B2B workshop at Arsenali Repubblicani, bringing together suppliers from all over Tuscany. There were numerous productive meetings with professionals from the wedding, luxury and hospitality sectors, as well as a cultural visit to the Museo delle Navi Antiche di Pisa, which preserves ancient Roman vessels. In the evening, we were treated to a special concert by “Canti Carnascialeschi” at the Teatro di Pisa, featuring Renaissance music, followed by a networking dinner.
Day 3
On the third day, we started our FamTrip and headed to Pistoia, a charming city known for its tradition, elegance and love of the land. We were welcomed in the Sala Maggiore of the City Hall, where we had an official reception. Next, we visited the Pistoia Nursery Park, an impressive park created by the renowned company Vannucci Piante, where the art of gardening takes on a new meaning. After a light lunch in the park, we checked into the Grand Hotel Villa Cappugi.
In the afternoon, we explored the historic center of Pistoia, with special emphasis on Piazza del Duomo, where we visited the Campanile di San Zeno, the Romanesque Cathedral, the Palazzo dei Vescovi and the Baptistery of San Giovanni. We also had the opportunity to visit the Museo dello Spedale del Ceppo. We ended the day with an aperitif in the lively Piazza della Sala, followed by dinner in a typical trattoria with traditional dishes from the region.
Day 4
On the fourth day, we embark on a journey through the hills around Pistoia, traveling along the historic Porrettana Railway, opened in 1864 to connect Pistoia to Bologna. We visit the Pistoia Steam Locomotive Depot, where historic carriages are still maintained.
Afterwards, we went to a special lunch at Toscana Fair, where we learned about the innovative concept of the company Mati1909, which offers outdoor spaces for exclusive events, such as the Orto-Giardino and a glass greenhouse that is unique in Tuscany.
The afternoon was spent visiting event venues. First, we visited the Castello Gotico – Parco and Villa Puccini, an architectural gem located on the shores of Lake Scornio and protected by the historical heritage. Next, we explored Borgo Antico Fattoria Casalbosco, a charming property surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, perfect for weddings and romantic celebrations. We ended the day with a traditional dinner at a local trattoria.
Day 5
After intense and inspiring days, it was time to say goodbye to the event. The last day was reserved for transfers and from there we set off for our next destination, ending a trip full of discoveries, valuable connections and authentic experiences. I came back from this journey even more enchanted by Tuscany and with many ideas for future events. Thank you, Buy Tuscany, Toscana Promozione Turistica and Tuscany for Weddings for this great experience!
