Hi guys all right? Last week, I talked about the Famtrip we did for Qatar and gave a spoiler about my participation in the Destination Wedding Planners Congress (DWP Congress) , which is one of the most anticipated events for wedding professionals. This year, the congress was held in Doha, Qatar. For three days, the organizers brought inspiring talks, networking sessions and many other activities for the participants.
For those who are new here and haven’t followed the other editions I attended, the DWP Congress is a worldwide event that brings together the best wedding professionals , including wedding planners, photographers, videographers, interior designers and many others. I will divide the event day by day, ok?
Starting with the reception at the wonderful St. Register Hotel:
Day 1
The morning of the first day was filled with important lectures. As I mentioned in last week’s post, important exchanges between professionals from all over the world take place at this event. It’s great to see how other cultures deal with marriage and, of course, to show how we Brazilians work. Right after the lectures, we had some free time in the wonderful St. Regis, which I have already presented here for you. Themed parties and dinners are a DWP tradition and one of the most anticipated moments, especially for me. The first night was an Arabian night at the Waldorf Astoria Lusail. We couldn’t have started the trip better.
Day 2
We started the day with more meetings and congress. One of the most interesting talks at the conference was by renowned wedding planner, Preston Bailey, who shared his tips and tricks for planning unforgettable weddings in exotic destinations. In addition, the DWP Congress also featured talks by other industry professionals, such as wedding decorator Ali Bakhtiar. Another highlight of the event is networking, which offers participants the opportunity to connect with other wedding professionals from around the world. We were able to discuss business strategies, share ideas and meet new partners and suppliers. To end the second night, we had the wonderful Gala Dinner at the Ritz Carlton, which I told about in the last post.
Day 3
On the third and last day, which I already miss, I wanted to comment on the party. We had, of course, many interesting talks, but the party was very special. The theme was magenta, the color, which is why I wanted to comment. Usually, bride and groom ask me about hyper complex and traditional themes, but look what a good theme idea: a color. The result is beautiful, because you manage to maintain color harmony in everything: dress code decor, gastronomy… I think it’s great and I’d like to leave this tip here for the bride and groom.
